Outreach and Community Involvement
AAG works to support Hampton Roads through involvement with the community and charitable organizations.
AAG also aims to support the education of our younger generation by donating to organizations that focus on youth development.
Since 2011, AAG is an active member of the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA). A Standards Development Organization that works with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to develop comprehensive, industry-vetted and endorsed standards that can be used as means of compliance with FAA regulations.
AAG continues to be a corporate sponsor of the AIAA Hampton Roads Section since 2012. The AIAA is an organization that creates programs to inspire young students and support aerospace professionals.
AAG also continues to participate in the annual AIAA Golf Fundraiser to support the “Futures in Aerospace” Scholarship since 2018. Awards are made to high school seniors who intend to pursue a curriculum that is pertinent to aerospace.
Since 2014, AAG sponsors the Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for the less fortunate held by the Community Services Board of Hampton and Newport News.
AAG has been a member of the Virginia Aerospace Business Association (VASBA) since 2013 and a corporate sponsor of VASBA’s annual Aerospace Gala since 2015. VASBA is the state’s advocate for the aerospace industry before federal, state and local policy-makers and the annual gala is held to raise money for STEM scholarships.
AAG has donated to the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) of Virginia since 2014. The FOP of Virginia works to protect the community’s best interest in state and local legislation. They also host and support many outreach programs to create a positive environment in the community.
AAG is an active member of the NASA Langley Contractors Steering Committee (LCSC) since 2015. LCSC provides an informal framework where on- and near-site LaRC contractors with an existing business presence at LaRC can network with other contractors and LaRC leaders to expand relationships that enhance the partnership bond that already exists.
In 2017, AAG sponsored NASA Langley Research Center Exchange’s Centennial Celebration, 100 years of excellence in aerospace achievements, scientific discoveries and technological breakthroughs.
AAG is an active member of the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce since 2011.
In 2018, AAG sponsored the Strategic Initiatives and Regional Collaboration, an information session and networking opportunity with local community leaders, put on by The Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and NASA Langley Research Center.
AAG sponsors and participates in the annual AMA-HEF Golf fundraiser, which started in 2022, for the Hampton Education Foundation (HEF). The HEF is a 501(c) (3) organization that supports Hampton City Schools. The Foundation’s work to-date has focused on improving the student experience and the educators who engage with students.
